Long Term Disability Success Stories

 LONG TERM DISABILITY SUCCESS STORIES

With a company-wide return to work rate of over 52%, we have plenty of success to share. A few of our recent favorites include:

  • A breast cancer survivor was looking to reenter the workforce after treatment. She was a motivated and engaged participant but was only using job boards to find her next job. Her background included machine operation and work as an electrical technician. WEDL’S “Let’s Get Working Program!” helped educate and teach our claimant about the importance of value propositions and impact statements in her cover letters and resume. As a result of our program she was quickly able to secure a new job with a pay rate 110% of her disability rate! The IMPACT of value-based resumes!
  • A Registered Nurse with a singular work history who was out of work due to complications from a stroke had never had to conduct a job search in the past and didn’t know where to start. While much of the job search process was new to her, she embraced our training program. After 14 weeks of services and through her networking efforts, she got a job as a floor nurse for an Alzheimer’s Unit, returning to work at a pay rate commensurate with what she was making when she was forced to leave her original job. The IMPACT of networking!
  • A HR professional who was also a cancer survivor was so emotional about her appearance due to her chemo treatments that she didn’t want to interview for any jobs. WEDL spent many meetings coaching and motivating her, rebuilding her confidence and helping her articulate the value she could offer a future employer. Her confidence grew weekly as we worked our way through our program. As our services were about to end, we sent 30 introduction letters to targeted companies and had her follow up with phone calls. This strategy helped her secure Sr. HR Manager position at a salary of $103,000, which was a $20,000 increase from her previous job.
